This course demonstrates the foundational principles of pastoral care and counselling as part of community-based service. The goals include: distinguishing the unique ministries of pastoral/spiritual care, pastoral counselling, and spiritual direction and community counselling, and articulating one’s own pastoral focus in light of the following themes: holistic attention to self-care; personal, communal, and organizational-graced history; and commitment to advocacy.
